Rutherglen’s landmark 900th anniversary celebrations are now well underway following the official launch in January, marking nine centuries since the town was granted Royal Burgh status in 1126. The year‑long programme is already bringing together heritage, culture, community and local pride across the Royal Burgh. As part of the ongoing engagement, Jane Cowan, our Centre Manager, welcomed Cllr Robert Brown (Rutherglen South Ward, South Lanarkshire Council) to the centre to discuss how partners across the town can continue supporting the celebrations as they build momentum.
