Mental Health Awareness Week

This year on Mental Health Awareness Week, the year theme, Creating Hope in Our Community, feels more relevant than ever. Across the UK, mental health continues to be one of the most significant challenges facing individuals, families and workplaces. Hope becomes essential when people are navigating uncertainty, pressure or isolation, and it grows strongest when support is visible and accessible. At Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre, we recognise the role that community shopping centres now play in that landscape. Centres are no longer just transactional spaces; they are community anchors where people can find connection, reassurance and practical guidance in an environment that feels familiar and safe. Our ongoing collaboration with Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust reflects that shift. During May we’ll be bringing wellbeing conversations into the heart of the town, we help reduce stigma, increase visibility and create opportunities for people to engage with support in a way that feels natural and approachable. Mental health is not a niche issue, it is a community issue. And creating hope requires joined‑up working, trusted partnerships and places that welcome these conversations openly. Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre remains committed to supporting that approach and strengthening the wellbeing of the community we serve.
